2 x 8mm Dark Red Coral CRYSTALLIZED™ – Swarovski Elements Rounds (5000)
2 x 8mm Antique Brass CRYSTALLIZED™ – Swarovski Elements Crystal Pearl (5810)

65cms of 0.71mm Vivid Red Wire
80cms of 0.315mm Vivid Red Wire

STEP BY STEP

1 Make a figure of eight, no longer than 5.5cms long with 20cms of 0.71mm Vivid Red Wire. Secure in the middle with each end of wire. Snip any remaining wire and squash the end flat with the snipe nose pliers.

2 Cut a piece of knitted wire twice the length of the figure of eight plus 1cm (12cms). Slide the figure of eight into the tubing and place in the middle. Fold the knitted wire into the middle. Pinch the centre and fold around the edges of the frame.

3 Cut a piece of 0.315mmVivid Red Wire and wrap the middle of the wire around the middle of the figure of eight. Sew each end of the wire around the edge of the frame, ending with the two wires in the middle. Repeat Steps 1 – 3.

4 Shape the wings so they bend out in opposite directions as shown. Secure together at the middle by wrapping around 3/4 times using 2 of the remaining 0.315mm wires. Each wing should lie flat next to each other.

5 Open the brooch back (take care not to stab your fingers), and attach to the back of the wings at the middle by sewing it on using the remaining 0.315mm wire and using the holes in the brooch back. End with the wire at the front exiting between the wings.

6 Cut a 25cm piece of 0.71mm wire. Make a decorative looped end as shown with round nose pliers. Thread a 5mm 6mm Dorado, 8mm Antique Brass, 8mm Dark Red Coral, 8mm Antique Brass, 2 x 10mm Bordeaux, 8mm Dark Red Coral Round and a 6mm Dorado.

7 Make two loops next to each other at the top as shown and bend the remaining wire over the end of the two loops and towards the back.

8 Slide the body over the wings, positioning the two 10mm Bordeaux Pearls in the centre. Use the remaining 0.315mm wire to wrap over and between the two pearls several times to secure. Finish the 0.315mm wire by twisting together, snipping and squashing at the back of the brooch.

9 Take the 0.71mm wire at the rear and wrap it around and between the 10mm Bordeaux pearl and the 8mm Antique Brass pearl twice. Snip the remaining wire and squash the end with snipe nose pliers, taking care not to scratch the pearls with the pliers.
